Q: I plan to stay over in Syracuse. Where should I book a room?
A: We've reserved rooms at two hotels in the area. You can get more info about them here. The Renaissance is a beautiful, modern hotel in downtown Syracuse. The Bird's Nest Motel is a quieter, traditional motel right near the village of Skaneateles. The choice of location is up to you. Both are about a 20 minutes from the wedding site.
Q: I have had problems booking a room at the Renaissance Hotel. Are the reserved rooms gone already?
A: Unfortunately, some of our guests have had a problem booking rooms here and we've talked to the management to hopefully resolve this problem. If you encounter any trouble, please call the hotel directly at 315.479.7000 and ask for Jackie Thorpe, who is in charge of reservtions. Don't hesitate to send us an email if you still can't book a room for the weekend.
Q: What does "ties optional" mean on your invitation?
A: We want our guests to be relaxed and comfortable outside. So feel free to dress nicely, but a tie isn't required... the groom won't be wearing one. Also, ladies will probably want to bring a sweater or shawl since it can get cool at night in Syracuse.
Q: Are you going on a honeymoon? Where to?
A: Yes! We're extremely excited to visit South America immediately after the wedding and hope to explore Argentina and do some snowboarding/skiing in Chile.
Q: How come the invitation says Syracuse, but Tim's parents live in Marcellus?
A: Though Andy and Eileen's home is in the village of Marcellus, their mailing address is listed in Syracuse.
Q: What if the weather is bad on the big day?
A: The wedding will happen rain or shine. We've rented a very large waterproof tent. Bringing an umbrella is a good idea... we see it as an insurance poilcy to guarantee a beautiful day.
Q: Did Allyson make the save-the-dates and invitations?
A: Yes! She designed all of the stationery and this website. Tim helped in every step of the process, from choosing fonts to sealing envelopes. You can see more here.
Q: Is Ally going to change her name?
A: As much as she loves all of the Cattses and is thrilled to become a part of the family, she's sticking with Murphy. But yes, you can still call her Ally Catts if you like.
Q: Will there be parking at the wedding site?
A: We've reserved a nearby parking lot for all of our guests to park in. There will be shuttle buses between the lot and the house. Get all the info here.
